in betweens

Between the really high tide and the really low tide a few of the local sandbars got pretty fun.I spent an hour at lunch and got some good sections. It`s a beautiful, warm autumn day, you`ve got to enjoy it when you can.

rosy dawn

I went down early to watch the moon set, fat high tide had things pretty slow.Blurry time exposures as I tried to get artistic in pre-dawn light. Sorry

schools out

Blackies looked fun this morning, it handles the high tide fairly well, but the kids were out of school and the lot was full with surf moms.I waited for the tide to drop but lost the bet when the west wind came up early.

Veterans Day

An Act (52 Stat. 351; 5 U. S. Code, Sec. 87a) approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday - - a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as "Armistice Day." Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen in the Nation’s history; after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veterans service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word "Armistice" and inserting in its place the word "Veterans." With the approval of this legislation (Public Law 380) on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.
All of us living in America today have benefited greatly from the courage and efforts of those who were willing to fight for the ideals this country was built on. We have to realize that it is our responsibility to serve and preserve this nation for those generations who follow us.

stormy

Good sized storm surf at Blackies this AM but I forgot the CF card for my camera so no photo`s. Didn`t surf as I had much work to do.

Great video clip, watch it all or slide to the 4 minute mark if you`re in a hurry

20 knot west wind

Thoroughly blown this morning, chilly too. I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed out the pier but it was just cold and windy. Headed home to the Sunday paper.

more nice day

It stayed smooth all day and warmed up nicely. I surfed this afternoon and got a few nice sections. I like these afternoon sessions ,when you drop into shadow ,and the sun shines green through the back of the wave
