Saturday 3-29

 
There was a strong southwind at sunrise, a contest on the south side of the pier, a paintball convention on the beach, and a crumbly SW swell. I didn`t surf but enjoyed taking in the sights at the shore.

Still just working...

I didn`t surf today but I tried, by the time I got down there the wind was up and the tide was out. I shot this pic at 56th last Oct.



 

missed out

I stayed at work all day ,just couldn`t get away.I know it was pretty fun early but the wind blew by mid-morning. I`m hoping to get out tomorrow.

I haven`t even had time to go look at the surf the last few days. New project requiring lots of time and lots of my attention. My client surfs a lot and has dozens of boards around, from stand-ups to little carbon tow-ins, so at least we talk surf before he heads out.

Fading swell with high tide made for so-so surf but it was a beautiful morning.


 
 

Easter

I wish I could say every day was Easter in my heart, we can celebrate daily if we think about Him. But I`m always grateful for God who loves us and this beautiful world he created. The surf was fun this morning, a little better than yesterday.a little walled at times but more punch.


 

Saturday morning

Very nice full moon on the way down, the swell didn`t look like much from the road but turned out to be fun enough. It was a nice way to get the weekend started.
 
 
 

Winter 2008 is gone, first day of spring

53 degree water and not much swell made it easy to stay at work today' I think I got sick surfing Monday so a break is ok

The howling winds are over and a nice windswell remains. The water dropped to 53 and was head-throbbing cold, but that didn`t stop the crowd.


 
 
 
 

Cold and blown

Got out early to look but knew it would be messed up before I even started the car. Grabbed a cup of coffee and made the morning tour.I sat at Blackies listening to the radio while watching a few hardy souls tackle the stormy windswell. Most guys chose to sit in their vehicles reading the paper or lost in thought. Sometimes surfing is just about getting that quiet moment alone.

The wind was blowing hard before sunrise. I had hoped to surf today but gave that up early

 

The wind was howling at 15-20 knots this afternoon and the kite surfers were on it!

 
 

Bad deal

The south wind was up early and kind of messed things up. I stopped at 56th to look and was only out of the car 2 minutes, but it was long enough for the meter maid to strike and disappear. One lousy quarter would have saved me $47.

It`s still winter

Spring is still more than a week away but it looked like summer today. Surf was small on the mornings low tide but came up nicely as the day went on.

Just another So.Cal sunday

came across all sorts of activity while checking the surf this morning!We are so lucky to live in a place that is so blessed with climate, wealth, resources and freedom. I had to marvel at the things around me as I surfed this morning.

Finally got to surf after 15 days on the injured list. 40th street was the best shape, though smaller than 56th. It felt great to be in the water on a sunny morning and I got a few good set lefts

Winter south

There are still 2 weeks of winter left but 56th saw some nice south swell the past couple days. I`m back in the water tomorrow and hoping it`s still on.
