southwind eddy, negative low tide and lot`s of work today kept me onshore all day. The swell was dropping fast this afternoon.( Rick Griffin artwork just because...)

bring it....

OK, its been summer for at least 3-4 days now, bring on the south swells and lose the spring south winds. It has been a bad few days for surf, I go down at dawn looking for that SE swell to sneak in but nothing yet

shorebreak

I had a pretty good time just riding glassy HB shorebreak today, there wasn`t much surf anywhere else and it was good aqua-therapy for me. School`s out soon so get your mellow days in before the waves are swarming with school kids/ school teachers.

fathers day

Soft and crumbly again but I went out anyway because that was how I wanted to start Fathers day. I was grateful to be able to paddle out and enjoy the new day, grateful for my father, grateful for the kids and wife who`ve made me a father, grateful for so much. Thanks Lord

again

I`ve been kind of frustrated this week, south winds and weak swells have come together to create less than ideal surf. I`ve wanted to surf for many reasons (it`s fun, it relieves work -related stress, it`s exercise, etc. etc.) but the conditions have been so marginal that I can`t justify the time as well spent, so I just go back to the responsibilities I was trying to get relief from , maybe tomorrow will be better.

Sunday 6/13

The south wind finally backed off and it was glassy grey this morning. Got into the water early and surfed a couple hours. The shape wasn`t great but it was warm, glassy fun. Thank you Lord for the great start to the day!

just work

Another morning surf messed up by the south wind, stronger this morning than the last few days. I`ve wanted to surf every day this week but just worked instead, as the coastal eddy has ruffled things up all week. Maybe tomorrow....

Haiti Outreach video

The agency we worked with last month put out this video, the construction our team did is featured a few minutes in. The video is kind of long but shows a great example of the work being done in Haiti

More from Haiti 2010

I`ve been back from Haiti just over a week now, and the impact is fading. I become numb to the things I saw and feelings I had as the "day to day" pay the mortgage- find more work- what`s for dinner routine takes over. The God who was so present a week ago becomes less visible to me because I`m not looking for him like I was last week.

6/6/10

Didn`t look like much from shore, but the surf was surprisingly fun. It got better as the tide dropped and water felt spring-suitable. Summer is only 2 weeks away.

down day

No work means no income today but on the bright side- there is time to surf and a south swell rolling. Every cloud has it`s "silver-lining"
