Nothing but work

Lot`s of work this morning, by the time I broke free the wind was on it and a heavy marine layer blew back in. I was better off staying with the job today

Finally felt like summer today, warm and sunny, lot`s of people on the sand and a decent little swell

I could only surf a little while today, didn`t surf well and chased the wrong waves but still had fun,had to say "thanks Lord" on the way out.

Dumpy low tide peaks this morning, drops were steep and rides usually short.

Fathers day present

Halfway around the world the wind blew hard, pushing pulses of energy eastward thousands of miles across the planets largest ocean to where I, a balding 55 yr old man in a rubber suit, sat waiting for the wave it created. A couple of lazy strokes matched its speed with mine and I was soon gliding across its glassy face..The whole experience is a miracle of nature and makes for one great Fathers Day present. 
 
 

stress relief

Got in the water for just 45 min but it felt good and lowered the internal stress levels. Inconsistent, lots of school kids,and walled but still ok.

No surf today but got invited to go sailing this afternoon, nice breeze, bratwurst grilled on the rail and a great sunset.

morning off

I chose to make today a "late start" day and it paid off nicely. The S.E. spot wasn`t working quite right but it was still pretty fun. 
 

Monday surf

There was some surf today but I didn`t get any. I went down twice but got phone-called off both times with work related issues. The wind was on it early. Maybe tomorrow.... 

saturday surf

There wasn`t much out there this morning, a very low-tide and weekend crowd kept me on the beach today.It was nice to stay warm and dry while sipping my coffee and watching the start of the weekend.

Stopped for a couple quick ones after work, the surf wasn`t much but it washed away the sweat and stress of the day and sent me home clean!

A short go after lunch was fun, SW swell made for fun little sliders. Grabbed 1/2 a dozen and then hustled back to work

I finally had a day to slip away from work and surf mid-morning, the shape was good and I got more waves than a 55 yr old guy should expect. Felt great after surfing, hard to put a price on that kind of therapy.

more Eastern Sierra

road trip to dad`s

Spent a short two days helping my Dad around his house in the Sierra`s. Fun but kind of emotional weekend, as he gets older it`s hard for him to keep the house and yard maintained and I wonder about his driving, how much longer can he live alone up there? what happens when his dogs pass? (they are 15 & 16 yrs respectively)He knows he can live with us but Orange County just doesn`t suit him anymore.It`s sad but a normal part of life that I`ll just have to work through. One day my kids will be asking the same questions about me.
